How It Started
Moms Across America is the brainchild of Zen Honeycutt, mother of three boys. When her son developed life-threatening allergies, Zen discovered the connection between GMOs, pesticides like glyphosate, and her children's health. After switching to an organic diet, all three of her sons' health dramatically improved — including her second son, who had been diagnosed with autism symptoms and tested at 8 times the European average for glyphosate in his urine.
Inspired by Robyn O'Brien's Ted Talk "Patriotism on a Plate" and Jeffrey Smith's Tipping Point Network, Zen created a nationwide forum for moms to connect, share, and take action. Within months, the movement's social media reach exceeded 300,000 per week. Today, Moms Across America reaches millions with a single post and has been featured on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, and in over a dozen documentaries including BOUGHT, Secret Ingredients, and Common Ground.
Zen is the author of UNSTOPPABLE: Transforming Sickness and Struggle into Triumph, Empowerment, and a Celebration of Community. She has spoken at Monsanto shareholder meetings, led Congressional briefings on school lunch safety, visited hundreds of elected officials' offices, and works with international leaders including the former Minister of Agriculture of Japan. She currently resides in North Carolina with her son and 34 farm animals.
